On the Day of the Dead, the gates of the underworld open, unleashing spirits and demons. When a demon drags Mano into hell, you rise as Nano, the undead. Your task is to hunt for the keys, face terrifying monsters, and descend into the underworld to rescue your brother.
The hunt for the keys keeps you moving through beautifully grim underworld corridors, and the tension jumps every time a demon spawns around a corner. Charging back into the fight as Nano after getting dragged down is satisfying, and I’m already on my third run tonight.
The atmosphere during the Day of the Dead levels is so thick you can almost smell the marigolds, and the way Nano rises from the dead sets the tone perfectly.
